ADONIS AWAKENS takes inspiration from 'The Awakening of Adonis', a painting by the second artist featured in our Artist series—John William Waterhouse. This English painter was renowned for his embrace of the Pre-Raphaelite painting style and his exploration of ancient Greek mythology in his subjects.

According to legend, Adonis, the Greek god of beauty, desire, and rebirth, met a tragic end while hunting. Rushing to his side, Aphrodite (Venus to the Romans) accidentally cut herself on a thorn, turning the once pure and white rose, symbolizing her, into a brilliant crimson shade stained by her blood. A kiss from the goddess awakened Adonis, perpetuating the eternal circle of life.

This romantic scent, Argos ADONIS AWAKENS, is both opulent and timeless. It opens with Bright Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Pink Peppercorn, transitioning seamlessly into a bouquet of Bulgarian Rose, Sambac Jasmine, Creamy Vanilla, Chestnut, and Juicy Raspberry.
